Fuel tank, Beetle/KG 09/52-03/53

Volkswagen produced fuel tanks with a 100 mm filler neck until September 1952, and a 60 mm filler neck from October 1952 to March 1953. From April 1953 to July 1955, they were changed back to 100 mm. (0492-070) So the 60 mm filler neck tank will fit perfectly if the Bogarad was manufactured between October 1952 and March 1953, with an oval window, with a split window (Zwitter). The 100 mm filler neck tank (0492-080) has an impression around the filler neck, which has no function, but is identical to the original one manufactured from April 1953 to July 1955. This fits all Beetles from August 1949 to September 1952. The later tank with a 100 mm filler opening (0492-080) can be installed in all Beetles from August 1955 to July 1960 (VIN 3192506). The model looks different, but the dimensions are the same.
