Fuel tank, Beetle 08/49-08/52 04/53-07/55 (Also good for 08/55-07/60)

Volkswagen produced fuel tanks with a 100 mm filler neck until September 1952, and a 60 mm filler neck from October 1952 to March 1953. From April 1953 to July 1955, they were changed back to 100 mm. (0492-070) So the tank with a 60 mm filler neck will fit perfectly if your Beetle was manufactured between October 1952 and March 1953, with an oval window, split window (Zwitter). The tank with a 100 mm filler neck (0492-080) has an impression around the filler neck, which has no function, but is identical to the original one, manufactured from April 1953 to July 1955. So it fits all Beetles from August 1949 to September 1952. The later 100 mm (0492-080) filler tank can be fitted to all Beetles from August 1955 to July 1960 (VIN 3192506). The model looks different, but the dimensions are the same.
