The fastening strap is screwed to the floor at the back of the battery with a nut (BBT 8730-08, not included), passed through the battery cover plate and at the front of the battery the strap can be attached to a hook and extended. This metal battery fastening strap is essential for the correct assembly of the battery type 1 10/52-55 and type 2 55-07/66. If the battery is connected incorrectly, it can tip over and/or short-circuit and lead to dangerous situations. The original strap is often damaged by corrosion or lost after many years. Now BBT presents a good reproduction.
