Vanagon T3 buses (type 25) have a very well-known rust problem, which is defined in German as “Kantenrost”. This type of rust damage can be seen on the edges of the bodywork of the type 25 buses. The various bodywork parts were welded together from the inside, while the small gap on the outside of the car was filled with sealant. This sealant was then painted over. After many years, this sealant develops small cracks due to UV radiation, temperature fluctuations and vibration. These small cracks allow moisture and dust to enter the edges of the bodywork, while the edges were not sealed at all from the inside. The edges of the bodywork start to rust and split, which even accelerates the damage process. The connection between the rear wing and the rear wheel arches is one of the first places where this process starts. In addition, the front wheel arches are also damaged at the entrance step and at the connection between the wheel arch and the upper wheel surround panel. The shape and fit of the reproduction panel parts were not correct, while the workmanship was even more dramatic. BBT's development department did a nice job and after more than 1 1/2 years of research and quality control, they came up with a product that rivals the original quality body parts. These finely crafted panels are available per side with the well-known Commitment to Quality label.
