Pittmann shaft for steering gear, T2 03/55-07/66

The Type 2 split bus steering box is known to be prone to ????play in the steering gear, which occurs due to the internal wear of the contact surfaces between the worm gear on the steering box and the steering rod on the output shaft (pitman arm). This is often due to a lack of lubrication in the steering box. The pin on the pitman arm is a very vulnerable part of the transmission, which is why BBT decided to include this item in our wide range of parts. From now on, excessive play in the Type 2 bus steering box is a thing of the past. All steering pins are available from stock and fit Type 2 models 03/55-07/66. For Type 2 models 08/66-07/72, the ref. # 1368-260. The leaking seal can be repaired with BBT item 1368-210.
