In the 1986 model year, many sensors changed their design and mounting method. They have become round cylinders that are pressed into the water flange with an O-ring and secured by a plastic retaining spring.

Not all sensors come with an O-ring, even if they need to be replaced. In this case, the O-ring must be ordered separately.

If the sensor has been disassembled for any reason, the O-ring must be replaced, since the risk of leakage when replacing the old one is very high.

It is also advisable to replace the retaining spring listed in the "options" tab. If it breaks, not only will the sensor come out of the flange, but coolant leakage may also occur, which is probably undesirable.
