This rubber boot (plastic) is located at the bottom of the 5-speed gearbox on Type 25 buses and protects the spring that returns the gearbox to its normal position after selecting 1st or reverse gear. If this boot is damaged, dirt and moisture can enter the spring mechanism, causing it to jam and causing problems with gear shifting.

For the T25/T3 bus, only the silencer is available for the gearbox mounts of some models! So if we press it out and derust it, paint the original console, then we can save on the expensive complete part! Not all sizes are available, but it is worth measuring the outer size of the silencer housing in our car is 59.5mm, if this is ours then the restoration can come and we saved money with it.
