Originally used in 1961 Beetles and T2s manufactured between 1955-61 where a fuel level sensor was not factory installed. Despite this, this cover plate can be used universally. The corresponding screw and gasket set is the product with the article number 0494-50.

This is just a small rubber, but it is very important. The metal fuel line runs through the engine compartment heat shield, and this transfer rubber is exactly where it should be. If this rubber is missing or damaged, the fuel line can be damaged by vibration and friction, causing dangerous leaks. Therefore, check if this transfer rubber is present and replace it if it is worn! Replace it if it is missing!

In the engine compartment, it is fixed to the left side of the fan housing and keeps the fuel pipe in the correct place. You can prevent the copper pipe from rubbing in the clamp by cutting a small piece of rubber tube and placing it under the clamp. Does not fit 25-30 hp engines.
