All 1300 AR and later 1600 AS engines have a double preheater intake manifold. The double preheater pipe provides better heating so that the engine will not stall even on cold days. Double plating is required in this area to close the gap between the preheater pipes, the cylinder covers and the rear engine compartment plate. This special heat insulator is required for this.
This seal is located around the preheater pipe at the rear of the engine and prevents the pipe from being damaged near the passage opening in the engine plate structure. Temperature fluctuations, corrosion from engine oil and fuel vapor can damage this seal. The 1095-2 is for a 25mm diameter pipe.
The preheating pipes of the intake manifolds are sealed near the engine coating guide by 2 plates which are insulated to prevent the heat from the engine under the vehicle from passing through to the engine compartment. After many years of use this insulating material has become brittle and no longer seals properly. BBT can now supply the insulating material from stock from 08/60 in kits suitable for all Type 1 engines except AR 1300CC engines.
This gasket is located between the intake manifold and the exhaust manifold. The later air-cooled ones have a different shape (found under part number 1057). 100% new product, but due to decades of storage there are signs of oxidation on it. This does not affect the use and quality of the product in any way. NOS, factory new but from old stock.
