This retaining strip is essential for the proper assembly of the engine gasket and is often damaged due to corrosion or a previously incorrectly installed gasket. The lower part of the front windshield frame of the Typ181 (Kübel) unfortunately rusts quite easily. Repairing it is very difficult, but rather impossible. We recommend this repair element to achieve the perfect end result! In the case of the Typ181, the original hinges must be used. For the Iltis, the original base plate must be used to attach the hinges. For the Iltis, the cutouts for the wiper shaft must be drilled larger so that they fit perfectly.
