This spring plate forces the sliding roof cable onto the gear, allowing the cable to snap into the gear properly. If there are any faults in the sliding roof system that require the replacement of the cables, the rotating mechanism or simply the gear, it is advisable to replace the spring plate at the same time. If it has lost its spring force, the system will never function properly.
