This retaining strip is essential for the proper assembly of the engine gasket and is often damaged due to corrosion or a previously incorrectly installed gasket. It is not always possible to repair the retaining strip, so one is forced to install a new element. From now on, BBT will deliver this retaining strip from stock in a length of 94 cm. The retaining strip can be used on models 1, 2, Karmann Ghia and 181.
