This plastic tensioner is in the Beetles after 1972, in the Luxus T2 buses, in the T25/T3 buses, in the Golf 1 when the windscreen rubber is tensioned, or all around. These were called the De Luxe version. The plastic has a nice chrome effect, in factory quality. This rubber is on the A-pillar vertically, it closes the butterfly window and there is a metal sheet inside it all the way to either the 7161, 7162, or 7163, depending on the year it is installed.
