It is very difficult to install, requires the right tools and patience to press the glass in, but then it sits as it should. This is also the rubber that sits on the air distribution cover of the T1 bus. These are often dry or simply missing, so they do not close properly and let air through when closed. Supplied in rolls of 100 x 8 cm, sufficient for 2 windscreens or both distribution wings.

Originally, the 08/73-07/79 Type 2 buses had a rubber seal around the sliding door lock cylinder. This seal provides a nice surface between the outside of the lock cylinder and the outer panel of the sliding door. It prevents moisture, dirt and dust from entering the interior of the sliding door through a small crack and having a destructive effect on it. From now on, all Type 2b owners can obtain this seal from stock.

This seal is located under the outer handle of the external sliding door on the Type 2 08/67-07/73 buses and on the T1 Split buses from 08/66 onwards, if sliding door(s) were available. The seal must prevent moisture and dirt from entering the lock via the outer handle shaft and also prevent the handle from damaging the paintwork of the door. The rubber washer is available from stock in good reproduction.
