This turbine housing rear cover is responsible for the correct path of the air drawn into the oil cooler and is an integral part of the cooling system. So it must be in place for the engine to receive proper cooling. It was only on the turbine housing of large oil-cooled engines.

The 2161-500 is the bracket you mount it to, and the 260 is the housing you build it into, if you want this for your Type 4 engine, especially if you mount it in a Beetle. The oil filler neck for the Type 1 is the 2161-550. If you need a Type 4 turbine housing, the 2165, for this set the oil filler neck is the 2166-550.
