Rubber protective cap for the brake pressure contacts on the master cylinder. This was introduced on most models from the fall of 1966. We recommend using this on all single circuit brake systems to protect the brake pressure contact connections.
This rubber is also used on the dual-circuit brake pressure contacts up to model year 1971 and on buses up to October 1969 (ch 229 061 567), as well as on the zero safety and oil temperature switches of the semi-automatic transmissions of the Beetle ...
It is important to wipe the inside of the drum (where the brake shoes contact the drum) with a good quality brake cleaner. This will ensure that any anti-oxidation oils are removed before installation. We also recommend that you fully inspect the brake system components for excessive wear and/or damage.
This little valve keeps the vacuum at the servo when the engine is off, so your servo will still work (and allow you to brake normally) when the engine is off… You will find this valve between the vacuum lines, just behind the intake manifolds.
The brake drum of the T1 64-67 bus is almost identical to the one of the T2a 68-70. The only difference is the outer diameter of the wheel bearing seal. On the T1 bus it is 64 mm, on the T2a it is 65 mm. This brake drum is designed to use the 64 mm sealing ring. It requires M14 wheel bolt 2584-50, but only on the front!! Use part number 1358-010 on T1 08/63-07/67 (included in our 1358 wheel bearing kit) Use part number 1359-015 on T2 08/67-07/70 (not included in our 1359 wheel bearing kit, or...
