It is important to wipe the inside of the drum (where the brake shoes contact the drum) with a good quality brake cleaner. This little valve keeps the vacuum at the servo when the engine is off, so your servo will still work (and allow you to brake normally) when the engine is off… You will find this valve between the vacuum lines, just behind the intake manifolds.
