The purpose of these seals is to seal the transition between the control arm and the front axle of the Beetle, Karmann Ghia and Type181 after 08/65, so that the grease remains on the front axle and dirt and moisture cannot penetrate the front axle housing. The latter has quite destructive consequences for the front axle bearing and the running surface of the control arm, so cracked or hardened seals must be replaced immediately.

This allows for infinite height adjustment, also known as the "Sway-a-Way" style. You need 2 of them to work properly, one on top and one on the bottom, and good welding skills are a must. Sold per piece and available for both early pinion and later ball joint suspensions.
